Hämmerklavier XXXIII: Ultra (World Premiere)
14. September, 8:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.
The German composer Moritz Eggert is known for exploring extremes in his work, both in terms of intensifying musical material and the physical presence of performers, and for his frequent employment of humor and irony in his music. This year he is one of the jury members for the Gaudeamus Award.
At Gaudeamus Festival 2025 he performs an ‘appetizer’ for the 13th part in his famous Hämmerklavier series. He will perform an hour of what is supposed to eventually be a 12-hour physically exhausting tour-de-force for one player. A piece that tries to pose a challenge for a performer regardless if there is an audience witnessing or not.
